Australia’s largest provider of radiation oncology, cardiology, and sleep treatments, GenesisCare, engaged Interior2 to deliver the fit-out of their new head office at The Mill Complex. This landmark project brought together contemporary workplace design within a distinctive heritage-listed setting.
The scope involved the refurbishment and adaptive reuse of two four storey silos seamlessly integrated with an adjoining three level warehouse, creating a unique and character rich environment. The design carefully balanced the preservation of the site’s industrial heritage with the introduction of modern workplace amenities.
The works featured a comprehensive upgrade of lift lobby finishes, along with the creation of a welcoming reception and waiting area that sets the tone for the entire workplace. High quality boardroom, flexible meeting spaces, and executive office suites were delivered alongside end-of-trip facilities, new bathrooms, kitchens, and a café designed to encourage staff interaction and wellbeing. Sit to stand workstations and multiple breakout areas were incorporated to support agile and collaborative ways of working, while an onsite gym further enhanced the employee experience.
A standout feature of the project is the installation of a dramatic four level vertical garden within the central silo void. Visible from levels of the building, this living element introduces natural greenery into the heart of the workspace, creating a striking visual connection across floors and reinforcing a strong focus on wellbeing and biophilic design.
Completed to an exceptional standard, the project reflects a thoughtful integration of heritage architecture with innovative workplace solutions, resulting in a dynamic and inspiring headquarters for GenesisCare.
